they grow so fast!

Anna and Evan are in the throes of teething! Evan has gotten his second tooth (on the bottom) and is working on a top front tooth as well. Anna has gotten her eye teeth (one is still poking through) and getting her two year molars. Boy, is she charming. We are busy as ever.

We are also knee deep in birthday party planning. One thing I hadn't considered with their birthdays so close together is that I have to start planning Evan's party before we even have Anna's party. Something to consider for future years.

No car repair needed this week, but I think we need a new dryer. We kind of knew that was coming though.

New pictures are coming soon....

the littlest superhero

Well, the bad luck continues with yet another car repair (new radiator). Honestly, I couldn't make this up if I tried. Evan is back to the non-sleeping, just in time for us to return to work. But we managed to have some fun over the holidays with lots of family and so many wonderful gifts. Uncle Scott and Beth traveled from Wyoming to see us along with Oma and Opa. This time Anna showed Beth some love. Nana and Papa and Uncle Kevin and Michelle were here too. Anna does love her uncles and Grandpas a lot. Evan really is a nice guy, he just really needed his mom a lot this time around. The Sunnock family Christmas was wonderful with our expanding family and all the little cousins.

Evan had a monumental holiday of teething, irritability and fussiness, with a large dose of non-sleeping and clinging to Mama. But the end result is one tooth, another on the way, crawling, and pulling himself up to stand. I really believe he thinks he can walk but the floor keeps getting in the way.

Anna is talking a blue streak and cracking us up with her expressions ("Frosty the Man") and her routines. She definitely challenged us over the break and I think it was just in time for her to head back to Nanny's house on Monday to hang with her pals.

Here is some holiday merry making:

Evan slept in his crib...sort of

So Evan fell asleep around 8:00 last night. John put him in his crib with the air purifier going (just like M&D's room). He woke up about 5 minutes later. John got him back to sleep and put him back in his crib. And he slept until around 11:00. I fed him and he went right back to sleep. We put him back in the crib and he slept until around 1:00. John couldn't get him back to sleep so he slept with him in the guest bed for a while. Eventually he put Evan back in his crib and he SLEPT until almost 8:00! We were so excited I think we woke him up. I slept so long without interruption I actually woke up disoriented and a little sore. I am NOT complaining. But I don't think I have slept 7 hours straight since the summer after Anna was born (before sickness and the third trimester struck). He even took a long nap in the crib today. Hmmmm.... Maybe he is finally going to sleep? I am not betting on it just yet, but we are hopeful.

Evan's BIG day

Well, after several days of a very fussy Evan, he finally let us know what he has been working on. Today he decided to cut his first tooth and start crawling. We knew he was teething and he has been working on the crawling thing for a while. It all came together for him today. What a big boy!

No No NO SANTA!

Anna met Santa and she doesn't like him at all. He was a very nice Santa, but she just screamed and screamed. Fortunately there were only a few people around, so I could save face. What a scene. "Ta Da" is the phrase of the day. Don't you love it? She also wags her finger at the Christmas tree saying "no, no, no." I guess she figured out we don't want her touching the tree.

Evan is driving us crazy with fussing and crying. He either needs to get a tooth or start crawling and give us some peace. I think he wants to be "held" more now than ever, and by held I mean wrestling with him while he tries to get out of your arms so he can try to stand, only to get tired and want to be held. Oh, bother.

The car really is fixed, finally. It has successfully started 5 days in a row. I think that is a new record.

7 more days to wake up hours before dawn. I actually saw sunshine on the way home from work today and momentarily needed sunglasses. It was nice.

ho ho ho, not so merry

The car is finally fixed (3 weeks, 13 days in the shop), total repair bill $700+. Thanks Stan and Rob. Hobby-Dog is feeling better, total repair bill $330. Thanks Dr. Karen. Holiday spirit? Not so much. But after listening to the doom and gloom news, we are thankful for our health, our jobs, our beautiful children, and our meager savings in the bank. (On the news today: 533,000 jobs lost in America in November 2008 alone. The jobless rate in US is now over 10,000,000 and will likely get worse in 2009.)

Tomorrow Anna (& Evan?) will help decorate the tree. Pictures are sure to follow. I am very behind on uploading, my camera is full.

10 school days until holiday break. 16 blissful days off work to sleep past 5:45am.... It is hard for me to believe that I now think sleeping until 7am is sleeping in. Can I say that I miss being pregnant on bedrest? I think I napped until 9am every day. I don't miss being pregnant, but I miss the bedrest part of the deal. Not the confined to the house, stress and anxiety, too many dr appts part, just the "rest" part. Yes, definitely the "rest" part.

Evan goes in for his 9 month well baby check before Christmas. So we will find out if he is gaining weight now. My hunch says yes, his pants are getting tighter.

Welcome to the world Baby Allison and Baby Nia!!!
